Run With Endurance

I received a word from the Lord that I believe is a message for a lot of us. He said Hebrews 12:1 says, “run the race with endurance, not speed.”

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1-2‬ NKJV)

Endurance: the ability to withstand hardship or adversity; especially : the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity

It is endurance that wins the race and we get endurance by finding rest in the Lord. If we do not rest in Him we will tire ourselves out and give up. Find your endurance from resting in the presence of the Lord!

Lord may you bless us all with your rest that we enter through faith so we may run the race with endurance looking unto Jesus.

It is worth emphasizing that. John in Revelation repeats often to endure to the end. The devil tempted Jesus with a chance to give up before the hard stuff really began! As Pilgrim’s Progress so clearly agrees, shortcuts, easy meadows and turning back are not the way to the Celestial City. Remember that poster that circulated of a kitten holding on to a horizontal bar with its front paws under the words “Hang in there”?…
