“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise. (Isaiah 43:18-21 NIV)
The past is the past, and though God was in it, He is no longer. He is present, as are we. Do not forget the great things He has done, but also do not dwell on the trials and tribulations of the past.
He is doing a new thing! His presence is now. Be present with Him, and eagerly expectant of the next great thing He will do.
He always delivers. He always loves. He is always faithful. He is always present. If it feels like He’s far away, He’s not! He makes a way in the wilderness and makes rivers in the desert. He gives His people drink from the waters of everlasting life! Drink up beloved! Behold He is doing a new thing.
Make way for the new! Now it shall spring forth; shall you know it?
His people will know it. His people (you and I) He formed for Himself and we shall declare His praise!
